LOS ANGELES – Dec. 1, 2014 – Boingo Wireless (NASDAQ: WIFI), the leading DAS and Wi-Fi provider that serves consumers, carriers and advertisers worldwide, announced today that the company has been named “Best Wi-Fi Service” in Global Traveler’s 11th Annual GT Tested Reader Survey Awards.
The 2014 honor continues Boingo’s record-setting winning streak in the category. Boingo has been voted the “Best Wi-Fi Service” by Global Traveler readers five times, including the last four years in a row. The 11th Annual GT Tested Reader Survey award winners were chosen by more than 26,000 of Global Traveler’s elite business and luxury traveler readers, who selected their favorite travel-related products and services of the year.
“Every day, we put our customers and their online experience first; we’re thankful that the Global Traveler readers – some of our most loyal customers – feel the same way about us,” said Dawn Callahan, Chief Marketing Officer for Boingo Wireless. “We’re proud to once again be the Global Traveler readers’ choice, and we look forward to welcoming new customers to Boingo’s unparalleled global network in the new year.”
Boingo’s award-winning Wi-Fi service offers consumers access to more than 1 million hotspots worldwide, spanning nearly 100 countries in partnership with nearly 100 Wi-Fi network operators. The Boingo Wi-Finder app, named a “Best App for Travelers” by Travel + Leisure magazine for the second year in a row, helps users find and get connected to Boingo hotspots around the world.
“We know consumers count on us to keep them connected when they are on the road, and we take that responsibility very seriously. That’s why we’ve continued to innovate around connectivity. In addition to the groundbreaking 2014 launch of Passpoint Secure networks at 26 airports – enabling seamless, secure connections for our customers – we’re also in the process of launching the ‘network of the future’ at key airports in 2015, which will set new standards for speed,” Callahan added.
