The new Boingo Innovation Center in Las Vegas hosted Vegas Golden Knights’ President & COO Kerry Bubolz for a podcast event with Sports Business Radio. The Las Vegas community, business executives and students from University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) joined us as Kerry shared what it takes to launch the first major sports franchise in Las Vegas and insights on the team’s historic run to win the 2023 Stanley Cup.
“Because of the expectation of the entertainment experience here in Las Vegas, we had to find a way to take [our organization] to that next level. We wanted to be different, but we wanted to be Vegas,” said Kerry.
Kerry went on to explain that entertainment in Las Vegas is diversifying. From Formula 1 to Super Bowl LVIII, the city is fast establishing itself as an epicenter for professional sports. Strategic investments in venue innovation are also important, as they not only drive revenue but provide the ultimate connected fan experience. Whether you’re at a game or looking to stream your team on the go using apps like KnightTime+, teams are leveraging technology to establish long-lasting relationships with their fans.
Commenting on technology’s impact on the fan experience, Boingo CEO Mike Finley said:
“The fan experience is now the connected fan experience. Innovation is front and center in Las Vegas and Boingo is excited to be a part of it.”
