At a ribbon cutting ceremony at Fort Carson in Colorado, Boingo celebrated the successful launch of Boingo Fiber, a new internet service for housing communities on U.S. military bases.

Major General David S. Doyle, Commanding General, 4th Infantry Division and Fort Carson, shares how Boingo Fiber is positively impacting quality of life on base by providing convenient, fast and affordable connectivity for military families.

“Soldiers and their families deserve the very best in technology. That’s why Boingo reimagined home internet service,” said Boingo CEO Mike Finley. “Affordable, fast and convenient connectivity—without setup headaches and contracts—is a must have, so soldiers and their families can pursue online education and remote work, wind down with online gaming or streaming a show. It’s for telemedicine visits and reliable video calls with loved ones.”

Boingo Fiber is the first “instant-on” Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) solution for the U.S. military. It is designed to meet the price point, mobility and convenience needs of those living on base. At Fort Carson, Boingo Fiber offers 1 gigabit download and upload internet speeds, with no data caps, no hidden fees and no contracts. “Instant on” technology enables set-up in seconds, without the need for a truck roll or installer. To get online, customers simply scan a QR code on a preinstalled Boingo Fiber box in the home and pair it with their preferred router.

Boingo SVP & General Manager of Military Rebecca Gray shares how Boingo Fiber reimagines home internet service for military families, and thanks Fort Carson, AAFES and military families for their collaboration deploying innovative connectivity solutions.

While addressing Fort Carson Base Command, AAFES leadership and service members in attendance, Rebecca Gray, Boingo Wireless SVP & General Manager of Military, added, “We’re thrilled to have launched the first-of-its-kind ‘Instant On’ technology right here at Fort Carson. It means those living in Fort Carson Military Family Housing don’t have to wait for a network installer or truck roll; they simply plug in their equipment and can get online instantly. This has never been done before, and it ushers in a new era of internet connectivity for military family housing that is reliable, convenient and affordable.”

Boingo worked in partnership with AAFES and Balfour Beatty Communities to make Boingo Fiber available at Fort Carson Military Family Housing. Boingo Fiber first debuted earlier this year. To learn more visit, fiber.boingo.com or contact the Boingo team at sales@boingo.com.
