fringing all over the world with Boingo Mobile

CTIA, LAS VEGAS, Tuesday 1^st April 2008 – fring and Boingo Wireless are delighted to announce a new partnership, giving Boingo Mobile users a way to talk, chat and interact at Boingo hotspot locations worldwide, and giving fring members a way to connect and chat using a Wi-Fi connection.

fring is a free to download, free to use application that enables anyone with a compatible handset¹ to talk, chat and interact with other fring users (fringsters™) and all of their fring, Skype^®, MSN^® Messenger, Google Talk™, ICQ, Twitter, Yahoo!™ and AIM^® contacts for free. By teaming up with Boingo, fringsters™ with a Boingo Mobile account can do it all over Boingo’s blazingly fast Wi-Fi network of more than 60,000 mobile-enabled hotspots.

Boingo Mobile provides unlimited Internet access to users of Wi-Fi enabled devices for a low-cost flat-rate of $7.95 (€5.95 or £3.95) per month; for new users, the first month is free. Boingo Mobile works on Nokia S60 smartphone and Internet Tablets, Windows Mobile devices, and coming soon, Sony Ericsson smartphones. fring’s features include a contact list which integrates mobile contacts with social network buddies, live real-time-presence indicators giving the ability to see who’s online and view their connection status, and a new function enabling digital file transfer between fring users and any of their online contacts.
